Van november 2019 tot februari 2020 liep in het M HKA de expositie ‘Zonder kunstenaars geen kunst’, georganiseerd door het NICC. Deze tentoonstelling toonde de complexiteit en veelzijdigheid van het artistieke weefsel, door menig populist te snel weggezet als een amalgaam. Binnen dit denkkader bestond de mogelijkheid om, via performance, spoken word, actie, installatie, enz., te reageren op de politiek-culturele situatie in Vlaanderen. Toon Saerens creëerde in het kader van dit NICC-project de installatie INVOLVED zKgK, op de trap naar de expositieruimte.

From November 2019 to February 2020, the exhibition ‘Without artists no art’, organized by the NICC, ran in M HKA, Museum of Contemporary Art in Antwerp. This exhibition showed the complexity and versatility of the artistic fabric, put away too quickly by many populists as an amalgam. Within this framework, there was the possibility to respond, via performance, spoken word, action, installation, etc., to the political-cultural situation in Flanders. De publicatie ‘Zonder Kunstenaars Geen Kunstboek’ bestaat uit 2 delen. Het eerste deel bevat een archief van de tentoonstelling. Het tweede deel bevat nieuwe bijdragen door de kunstenaars die deelnamen aan de tentoonstelling.

The publication ‘Without Artists No Artbook’ consists of 2 volumes. The first part contains an archive of the exhibition. The second part contains new contributions by the artists who participated in the exhibition.
