In het INVOLVED-project zoekt Toon Saerens in het maatschappelijke engagement van het verzet de schoonheid en kracht van het individu dat actie onderneemt. De vitaliteit maar tegelijk ook de kwetsbaarheid ervan.

Net als in de reeksen FEAR en TRIBES wil de kunstenaar ons tonen hoe zinloos polarisatie kan zijn, en hoe een oordeel dikwijls wordt ingekleurd door onwetendheid en gemakzucht.

In the INVOLVED project, Toon Saerens seeks in the social engagement of the resistance the beauty and strength of the individual who takes action. The vitality but at the same time its vulnerability.

As in the series FEAR and TRIBES, the artist wants to show us how pointless polarization can be, and how judgment is often colored by ignorance and laziness.
